Most transfers complete in 2–4 weeks: a 3-day audit, a 1-week staging build, a scheduled cutover window of 30–90 minutes, and a 30-day care period. Complex multi-site or commerce migrations can run 6–8 weeks.

Will my site go down during the cutover?

Accepted Answer

No. We mirror the site under a staging hostname, lower DNS TTL 24 hours in advance, then switch records during a low-traffic window. The target is zero customer-visible downtime; rollback to the previous record is one DNS change away.

What happens to my SEO rankings?

We preserve URL structure where possible, set 301 redirects for any changed paths, retain titles/meta/schema, and resubmit sitemaps. A pre/post crawl comparison report is delivered after cutover so any regression is caught inside the first week.

Can I keep my current domain registrar?

Yes. We only need DNS access to switch records. You can keep the domain with your current registrar, or transfer it to Cendigo-managed registration during onboarding.

We work with what's available: cached pages, the public site, your design files, and a fresh export. We've recovered sites from situations where the prior developer was unreachable — it just adds 3–5 days for content re-entry.

Do I need to switch CMS or platform?

Not necessarily. Transfer-style plans keep your existing stack and add managed hosting, support, and ongoing maintenance. We only recommend a platform change when it eliminates concrete pain — performance, security, or editor experience.

What about my custom integrations?

Forms, payments, CRM webhooks, analytics, chat widgets, and scheduling tools are catalogued during the audit and re-tested in staging. We never assume an integration works until it's verified end-to-end in the new environment.

How do you handle PII and compliance?

Data residency is configurable (EU or US). Access is least-privilege, MFA-required, and logged. A DPA is signed before any production data is moved. Sub-processors are listed in our Trust Center.

Yes. The original site remains live until the DNS swap and stays intact for at least 30 days post-cutover. A single DNS change reverts the change with a propagation window matching the lowered TTL.
